We are very pleased to share that our Morgan Taggart, Program Specialist with OSU Extension in Cuyahoga County and co-convener of CCCFPC, received The Ohio State University 2013 Distinguished Staff Award for her outstanding leadership and accomplishments that have resulted in significant, positive impacts for residents and the Greater Cleveland community. 2012 Produce Perks Report released!

UNC Chapel Hill features CCCFPC within their research center!

In the early part of this year, staff from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill's Center for Training and Research Translation visited the CCCFPC to gain insight into our organization and our implementation strategies. Members and staff of the CCCFPC were interviewed and organizational documents and materials were evaluated and assessed to better understand how we do what we do here everyday in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.... Read more »

FPC Shares Recommendations on Urban Soils with Congresswoman Fudge for 2012 Farm Bill

Members of the FPC shared recommendations with Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, member of the House Agriculture Committee and her staff at a Farm Bill 2012 Roundtable on May 23rd in Geauga County.   Ideas about how to support urban agriculture through healthy soils and farmers' markets were presented.  Here are the recommendations for creating healthy soils for urban agriculture and the role USDA and the Farm Bill can play in supporting these efforts. Ruminants Rule!

Goats and sheep are making a new home into a few communities in Cuyahoga County this year.  Beachwood City Council voted 5-0 for an ordinance to allow farm animals on residential property on May 7, 2012. The new policy allows residents to keep goats and sheep on tracts larger than 1.1 acres with a conditional use permit.... Read more »
