For the past two months, FPC has been collaborating with the City of Cleveland, Healthy Cleveland, the Cleveland Foodbank, Children's Hunger Alliance, the Cleveland Clinic, the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, and the Ohio State University Extension to design and create the guidelines, which are based on the USDA 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and New York City's Standards for Meals and Snacks Purchased and Served. The Healthy Cleveland guidelines will be introduced to Cleveland City Council early next week for discussion, with the potential to be put into legislation in mid-November.
