FPC Welcomes Jamel Rahkeera and Village Family Farms to Produce Perks!

In our last newsletter we highlighted the new markets participating in Produce Perks in 2014. Since then we have welcomed one more new market, Village Family Farms Farmers' Market in Cleveland. This market is operated by long-time OSU Extension friend, Jamel Rahkeera. See Jamel's recent spotlight by Fair Food Network as he talks about his experience receiving a high-tunnel through resources offered by USDA's EQIP (Environmental Quality Incentives Program), a program expanded to meet the needs of urban residents practicing urban agriculture in Cleveland.

Village Family Farms Farmers' Market will be open:
Saturdays and Sundays
8A-5P  /  MAY-OCT
1662 Crawford Avenue  (between Hough Ave & E89th St.)
Cleveland, Oh 44106

Additionally, FPC is currently working with our partners at Cuyahoga County Board of Health and Case Western Reserve's Prevention Research Center to finalize program materials and set a training date for our clinic partners in the Produce Prescription program for 2014. Please keep your eyes peeled to our website and to our newsletters to come for more formal report on outcomes from the 2013 pilot. We look forward to sharing more of the successes of this program with you!
